Leipzig boss Mintzlaff officially reveals the Nagelsmann transfer

RB boss Oliver Mintzlaff has revealed the transfer fee that FC Bayern Munich had to pay for coach Julian Nagelsmann.
RB Leipzig’s managing director Oliver Mintzlaff publicly announced the transfer fee for which coach Julian Nagelsmann moved to Bayern last summer.
“Since I’m a decent businessman, we held the talks after the request and set the bar so high for ourselves in the hope that FC Bayern wouldn’t do it. In the end, there were 25 million on the table and we did it.” said Mintzlaff aloud image at a fan talk with around 700 supporters from Leipzig.
According to previous media reports, the fee for Nagelsmann should initially have been below the amount mentioned by Mintzlaff. Again kicker reported in September, the 34-year-old coach initially moved to Munich for a basic amount of 15 million euros. Should he win the double twice in his five years of contract, the amount could reach a maximum of 25 million euros.
Leipzig and Nagelsmann waived an exit clause
Bayern boss Oliver Kahn said in May Sports picture: “In order for us to come anywhere near the rumored sums, we would have to win the Champions League five times by 2026. I don’t know if that’s realistic.”
As Mintzlaff also explained, Leipzig decided against a release clause when Nagelsmann signed in 2019, “although there was such a clause in the amount of ten million euros. What we shook hands with back then was: if Bayern Munich come, we’ll talk and find a solution. “
