It all started with a few simple building blocks that could be plugged into one another. Today, the company owns a veritable toy empire, consisting of numerous Lego sets – which fascinate children and adults alike.

The Lego company was founded by Ole Kirk Christiansen back in 1932: the Danish carpenter initially produced wooden toys, but the colorful plastic clamping blocks were not introduced until 1949. What nobody could have guessed at the time: over the decades, the modular system has taken the company to the top of the world’s largest toy manufacturers. Nowadays there is hardly a household in which children live without Lego or Lego alternatives – but adults are also increasingly interested in the clamping blocks. This is not only due to the complexity of some sets, which take a lot of time and work, but is also due to the subject matter: Many modular systems are based on figures or scenes from well-known (cinema) films and series. We present a few of them.

1.Friends

The “Central Perk” is the favorite café of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross from the American comedy series “Friends” – which has now achieved cult status. Peppered with loving details from the original setting, the Lego set comprises 1,079 individual parts. Certainly a great building experience for fans at home.

2. The Mandalorian

Disney’s new streaming service surprised fans of the Star Wars saga with its own TV production: “The Mandalorian” – which quickly delighted millions of fans. So it’s hardly surprising why Lego dedicated a set consisting of four Mandalorian warriors to the bounty hunter.

3. Townhouse

There are also a variety of exciting building projects for the younger generation (aged 9+) such as this complex townhouse including a pet shop and café – which can also be converted into a bank building or into a shopping street including a tram. The set includes 969 pieces and three minifigures.

4. Police Station

Many children dream of a career as a police officer – blue lights and cars fascinate them from an early age. The same applies to Lego sets like this police station, which contains everything that belongs in real life: a station with cops and crooks, vehicles and a prison.

5. Programmable robot

This Lego set is not just about assembling the 847 individual parts: the five multifunctional robots can be programmed via an app to carry out different activities. Children between the ages of seven and twelve can thus make their first experiences in programming.

6. Excavator

Construction sites also exert a great fascination on small children. A toy excavator, crane with wrecking ball and cement mixer can all come to life in this Lego set (4 years and up). Mini construction workers and various accessories that should not be missing on any construction site will contribute to this.

7. Dinosaurs

Whether T-Rex, Triceratops or Pterodactylus: Three different dinosaurs can be built from only 170 parts. Once assembled, the head, arms, legs and tail can be moved – the T-Rex can even open its mouth to reveal its dangerous teeth. An exciting building and playing experience for children between the ages of seven and twelve.

8. Vehicles

What is special about this Lego set are the 442 individual parts (wheels, bricks and special shapes), from which a wide variety of vehicles can be created. The aim of the game is to stimulate the imagination and creativity of young site managers. For this reason, the toy manufacturer also advertises that this set is suitable for people from four to 99 years of age.
