Hardly any Lego set has been discussed as controversially in recent years as the #045, Lego 21337 foosball table from the popular Ideas range. It is so special because the Danish toy giant gives its fans the chance to implement and submit their own ideas with clamping blocks. Lego finally picks out a few selected projects and puts them on the market.
Lego massively mods fan design
In the summer of 2021, Lego presented the winner of the “We love sports” fan competition. The Hungarian Donát Fehévári convinced the jury with a playable foosball table and won the race. Almost a year and a half later, Lego presented its “interpretation” of this set. Apart from the game functions that a foosball table has, the draft and the final model have hardly anything in common. After the release of the Lego set, the size had to be adjusted in favor of stability and fun. The foosball table is one of the longest and most intensively tested sets in recent years, Lego continues. Nevertheless, the comments from fans who would have liked to see the mini table football bigger and closer to the fan design abounded in online forums. From our point of view, the result is impressive. The three and a half hours of construction time are varied and easy to master, even for Lego newcomers. In almost every one of the 14 plastic bags there are two players, along with other heads and hairstyles. A paradise for fans of new minifigures.
