Lego is something for kids? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that! The complex Creator Expert series “Building with modules” requires a lot of skill, patience and accuracy from every hobbyist. The following sets are a real challenge for every Lego fan.

While the classic “Creator” series from Lego is intended for small children (between six and nine years of age), the “Expert” series is aimed at advanced builders. This is made clear by the age information on the respective sets, for which one should be at least over twelve or 16 years old. Some buildings, vehicles or sights are so complex that they are only suitable for adults (18+). Due to the large number of individual parts, the models from Lego Creator Expert are not exactly cheap, but they bring a lot of craft fun with them – and are considered real collector’s items.

1. Big Ben

The great Benjamin, better known as “Big Ben”, is a symbol of London: the famous bell and clock tower adjoin Westminster Palace and Elizabeth Tower – together they make up a Lego set of 4163 individual parts from the “Creator Expert” series . Due to the complicated construction, it is recommended by the manufacturer not to assemble this model under the age of 16. For those old enough to do so, Big Ben can put their building skills to the test. You can get the set here.

2nd roller coaster

Here, too, Lego recommends that you only tackle the 4124-piece roller coaster set from the age of 16. The chain elevator model is fully functional and comes with eleven minifigures, two trains and a ticket booth, a cotton candy cart, a fountain, a waiting area (including a bench), a pond and a drinks stand. After the 44-part roller coaster route has been put together, it can be put into operation straight away. You can get the set here.

3. Apollo 11

This set of the “Lego Creator Expert” series is a detailed replica of the Apollo 11 lunar module – including two astronaut minifigures. It contains 1087 individual parts and is recommended by the manufacturer for hobbyists 16+. In addition to separate stages of descent and ascent, the world-famous lunar landing ladder and the flag of the USA must of course not be missing – after all, the result should be at least as impressive as the first manned space mission to the moon. You can get the set here.

4. Stadium

Football fans take note: The legendary “Old Trafford” stadium of Manchester United – one of the most famous football clubs in the world – is now also available as a Lego set with 3898 individual parts (from 16+). The replica looks very similar to the original, but it is about 600 times smaller than the real stadium from England. Opened in 1910, Old Trafford still delights millions of football fans today. 5. Mustang

Lego wouldn’t be Lego if there weren’t a number of popular vehicles in the “Creator Expert” series – such as a 1960 Ford Mustang: The car is made up of 1471 individual parts and has a dark blue body, white racing stripes and five-spoke rims a real old-timer that can be optionally expanded. There is a compressor, a duck tail spoiler, exhaust pipes, a front spoiler and a nitrous oxide can for individual design. You can get the set here.

6. Gingerbread house

In keeping with the pre-Christmas season, this set is all about gingerbread. The Lego Creator Set includes 1477 parts, three figures and various accessories – such as a Christmas tree with gifts, a stroller, a snow blower and various kitchen utensils. The age recommendation is given as 12+, so the house is more suitable for advanced hobbyists.

7. Taj Mahal

To top it off, there is a special treat from India: the world-famous Taj Mahal. The architectural masterpiece comprises four facades (including gables and arched windows), a main dome, four capsule-shaped secondary chambers and four towers. It consists of 5923 individual parts and can therefore only be created from the age of 16 if you can believe Lego. The model can be divided into seven modules to make it easier to transport. You can get the set here.

8. Fire station

Also based on winter, this fire station consists of 1166 parts and – according to Lego – can be tackled from the age of twelve. The two-story building includes, among other things, Christmas accessories such as an ice rink with a firefighter statue, a decorated tree, a sled, a bench, a street lamp and a Lego light brick. Of course, a fire station should not be without a fire truck, fire extinguisher and a fire mast. You can get the set here.
