Lecture in Kempten: People with disabilities in ancient times – Bavaria

Although, according to the Federal Statistical Office, almost one in ten people in Germany was severely disabled in 2021, people with disabilities are still often forgotten and excluded – even from historiography. Robert R. Keintzel would like to close this gap with his book “A History of People with Disabilities”.

In his lecture in Kempten, in the Cambodunum Archaeological Park, he traces the lives and perceptions of impaired people from 750 BC to 500 AD. The event is barrier-free and will be translated into sign language.

Lecture “Dis/abled in Antiquity”, Thursday, November 30th, 7 p.m., APC Kempten, Römerbox, Merktstr. 1, as well as as a live stream www.apc-kempten.de
