LeBron James wants to make racism in sports visible – He is producing a film about Jesse Owens with his own production company.

The NBA star LeBron James (39) is producing a documentary about the American athlete Jesse Owens (1913-1980). As Variety reports, the film, titled Triumph: Jesse Owens and the Berlin Olympics, will be made in collaboration with The History Channel. SpringHill Company is James and Maverick Carter’s (33) executive production company for the film. Andre Gaines directs.

“The SpringHill Company was founded to tell important stories,” the NBA star said of the film project: “With these documentaries, we want to share with a whole new generation those meaningful moments and figures in history that matter and continue to do so strengthen and inspire storytelling.”

Documentary about James Owens is about racism

The story is about the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. The focus is on the track and field athlete Jesse Owens, who defends himself against racism in Germany. The documentary will include archival footage, animations and interviews with experts, Owens daughters and athletes. In addition to the Jesse Owens documentary, there will also be two other film projects that address sports and racism.

LeBron James is one of the most successful basketball stars of all time and an active player in the NBA. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Savannah, since 2013. Together they have two sons and a daughter. LeBron “Bronny” Jr. is 18 years old, Bryce Maximus is 15 and Zhuri Nova is 8 years old. James has publicly expressed his desire to one day play in the NBA with Bronny several times.
