It’s still a thunderclap. It was unexpected, frankly. I did not think that Benjamin Mendy would be acquitted under these conditions. It’s all in honor of his lawyer (litigant, Eleanor Laws), which, once again, was very good, emphasizing in particular the behavior of the complainants after the parties and alleged facts. But it was far from a foregone conclusion in the face of so many accusations and in a post-#MeeToo context.
