Late installment payments for electricity: a problem for the poor – Munich

Stadtwerke München (SWM) receives between 2,500 and 6,000 inquiries from customers every day, and there are always some with payment difficulties. Of course, they did not find out at SWM that noticeably more people had recently asked for a postponement or explored the possibility of an installment agreement. One might think that the non-debiting of advance payments for electricity, gas and water is gradually causing distress for some customers.
