“Last Generation” in Munich: Four climate activists in custody – Munich

After protests in Munich, four “last generation” climate activists were taken into preventive custody on Tuesday. Among them was a 48-year-old who was already in custody in the Stadelheim prison and had gone on a hunger strike there.

According to The Last Generation, however, six other climate activists who had repeatedly taken part in blockades on Tuesday have been released after a court order, although they threatened further blockades if a speed limit of one hundred kilometers per hour is not enforced.

The climate activists of the “last generation” resumed their protest actions after a week’s breather on Monday. After a total of 13 activists – eight men and five women – disrupted traffic at four different points on the A9, the A96 and the Mittlerer Ring on Tuesday morning, another road blockade occurred in the after-work traffic.

Shortly before closing time, eleven activists gathered at the Prielmayerstrasse/Karlsplatz intersection, eight of whom taped themselves to the street; a woman was linked by the hand to those seated. The demonstrators blocked the lanes in both directions. The police diverted traffic, relieved the activists and took them to the headquarters for further investigation. The operation ended at around 9:30 p.m.
