Outstanding on Last Exit Ham Street is the musical accompaniment, because the main actor and author Heinz Strunk has composed lots of Ballermann rip-offs for his comedy series that sound like Ballermann classics. “I’ll kiss you on your little mouth, we’ll have a little shepherd’s hour / and all the kids will mow” – even if you just listen to it for a short time, you won’t be able to get it out of your ear canal afterwards. “Alarmstufe Rahmstufe” is in the same, if not the same category, and of course the already much better known “Greit in a hundred seconds / I let it run into all the holes / then I stay stoned for a hundred hours / just drink, drink , drink.” If you want, you can even gain some insight from it: mood songs are sold by the dozen. Anyone who has it in them condenses everything they see into such a banger. If one hummer gets lost in the Prosecco glass, the next one immediately arises: “An insect in sparkling wine / is a tangible defect.” And always, always so on.
