Whether it is a laptop with or without a touchscreen, there are some basic questions that you should ask yourself before buying a new notebook. These include purchase criteria such as:
- Random access memory: For example, if you want to cut videos or edit complex pictures, you need more RAM.
- Display size: The larger the screen of the laptop with a touchscreen, the more detailed the picture. This can be particularly relevant for image processing. A large screen also helps with demanding analyzes with figures and tables.
- Internal hard disk space: It serves as storage for the operating system, programs and photo, music and video collections. It can be supplemented by external storage options such as hard drives, USB sticks or memory cards.
- Graphics card and processor: Elaborate computing processes require a fast processor, otherwise the finished video may have to render for a long time, for example. Even a high-quality graphics card should not be underestimated when it comes to professional laptop requirements or gaming.
Since touchscreen laptops are hybrids, there are a few more questions to ask before you buy. For example, do you want the screen and keyboard to be separated so that the laptop screen can be used as a separate tablet? Then a tablet PC would be the right choice for you. There are also devices on which the keyboard is simply folded down, but cannot be separated from the screen.
