A little blunder for Christian Estrosi. The mayor of Nice received the former Prime Minister and current mayor of Le Havre Edouard Philippe, favorite of Macronist voters for the presidential election of 2027, during a “nissart feast”, this Friday evening. In front of the 6,000 people present at this huge annual banquet, the language of Christian Estrosi forked, as noticed by France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur who attended the scene. The mayor of Nice and vice-president of the Horizons political group of which Edouard Philippe is the president, indeed addressed his friend Edouard… “Balladur”.
Right after his slip, Christian Estrosi, confused but laughing, hid his face with his hands. But the mayor of Le Havre did not hold it against him. Edouard Philippe even came to his rescue, bursting out laughing and taking him in his arms. The blunder, which also made the audience laugh a lot, did not tarnish the image and communication of the mayor of Nice who was here on conquered ground.
