This year’s Coachella festival begins this Friday. Headliners include Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat and Tyler, the Creator.

This year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is about to kick off. Starting at 7 p.m. Central European Time today, April 12th, the first bands will climb one of the eight stages at the legendary music event in California.

Although there are some big names in the line-up again this year with Lana Del Rey (38), Doja Cat (28), Tyler, the Creator (33) and the specially reunited nineties icons No Doubt, advance sales were ongoing surprisingly slow. While last year all tickets were sold out within a few days, this year there appears to have been a dramatic drop in interest. As the British “Guardian” reports, the sale of 125,000 tickets for the first weekend took a full 27 days this time. There should even be some tickets available for the second weekend.

Lana Del Rey is looking forward to a “big and powerful” show

US singer Lana Del Rey, who appeared at the festival for the first time in 2014, was not deterred by the mediocre sales figures. In an interview with “Vogue” She said: “I’m really excited to be headlining. It’s funny because it’s been ten years to the day since I was there, which is crazy.” She “set a lot of things in motion” for her show and now hopes that it will be as “big and powerful” as planned. “Architecturally it will depend on the structure and whether I can do it,” she said. “But I’m really looking forward to it. I’m excited, so my fans can be excited too.”

Is superstar Taylor Swift coming over too?

According to rumors, Lana Del Rey’s good friend Taylor Swift (34) will also be at the festival with her boyfriend Travis Kelce (34). It remains to be seen whether she will take this opportunity to join Lana on stage for a song together. Her boyfriend Travis gave himself up told People magazine A few days ago I was still confident that I would be able to attend the event. There he said, “I’m a Coachella guy. I love going to Coachella. I love live music in general. So maybe you’ll see me popping up over there at some point.”

The festival in the live stream

Music fans who unfortunately can’t travel to see their stars live don’t have to be sad. On her YouTube channel The organizers of the festival offer free live streams, which allow you to follow what is happening on the stages from your sofa at home.
