More than six years after the death of the icon of French song, Laeticia Hallyday extended a hand to David Hallyday and Laura Smet by inviting them to the exhibition dedicated to the life of their father.
An invitation for a “much happier future”. This Thursday, December 21, Laeticia Hallyday spoke to BFMTV, a few hours before the opening of Johnny Hallyday The Exhibition which retraces the life of the idol of young people until June 19 at the Porte de Versailles in Paris, six years after his death.
Proud to “tell Johnny’s story” to his fans, the singer’s last wife hopes to take advantage of this opportunity to reconnect family ties, so strained by a battle over inheritance, which isolated Jade, Joy and their mother by David Hallyday and Laura Smet.
“I hope they will come and see the exhibition. They are invited of course. I hope they will be as touched as we are,” said the 48-year-old woman on our channel.
Years of “silence” and “misunderstandings”
Laeticia Hallyday then spoke about the “pain” of her two daughters after years of “silence, abandonment, misunderstandings and misunderstandings” between the different clans.

The Taulier’s wife still wanted to put things into perspective by declaring that she “understands” the reaction of Johnny Hallyday’s children: “It’s all very personal and everyone experiences their mourning in their own way. I can understand.” Before taking a further step towards reconciliation: “I hope that time will do its work and that Jade and Joy will find peace with their brother and sister.”
At the end of November on BFMTV, David Hallyday also “opened the door” to Jade and Joy. “Children are always a little dependent on what their parents do,” he admitted. “They are young women today and you have to be completely stupid, immoral and insensitive to say things differently: They are still my sisters and my door is open to them at any time.”
