According to experts from the Federal Employment Agency, unemployment in Germany will rise again slightly in the coming months. This is the result of the latest labor market barometer from the Nuremberg Institute for Labor Market and Occupational Research (IAB). The development of the labor market is therefore still slightly in positive territory despite repeated falling values of the leading indicators. “The Omikron variant is dragging the corona crisis even further,” said Enzo Weber, head of the IAB research department for forecasts and macroeconomic analyzes. The number of unemployed in Germany had recently decreased for nine months in a row. In November it was 2.317 million.
