The situation on the labor market continues to ease, and now more skilled workers are being sought again, the Munich Employment Agency announced. In October, 4994 people were unemployed in the Munich district. That is 209 fewer than in the previous month and 1,335 fewer than in October 2020. The unemployment rate was 2.6 percent (previous month: 2.7). In the state capital Munich, too, significantly fewer people registered as unemployed last month: 37,972 people were unemployed, 2,091 fewer than in September and 7,871 fewer than a year ago. The unemployment rate in Munich fell by 0.2 percentage points to 4.3 percent. The youth unemployment rate also fell sharply, falling in the city and district of Munich by 0.4 percent to 3.0 percent.
