Kurdish refugee: fight against deportation in Turkey – Erding

If Heybet Sener has to go back to Turkey, he would almost certainly end up in prison. The last deportation of the Kurdish refugee was stopped in early February – but the next date is coming up soon. About living in fear.

Shortly before departure he had almost lost all hope, says Heybet Sener. When police officers at Munich Airport had violently wrestled him to the ground for the mandatory corona test. The 32-year-old refused desperately. When the doctor asked him why he was defending himself so much, he replied: “Imagine you are standing in front of a fire. Would you go there on your own – voluntarily?” In Heybet Sener’s case, the fire is the deportation to Turkey. When he arrived he would certainly be arrested immediately and imprisoned – for an indefinite period of time.
