Garry Kasparov: “I don’t drink tea with strangers”

The Russian government critic and former world chess champion Garry Kasparov (60) tries not to let fear of an attack get to him. “What can you do? Basically nothing,” he said at the Ludwig Erhard summit in Gmund am Tegernsee, where he was awarded the “Freedom Prize of the Media”. The question of this fear is “very painful” – especially when he thinks of his wife and children.
At big events, he makes sure someone is watching over him, Kasparov said. “And I don’t drink tea with strangers.”
