The persistent drought is, in the truest sense of the word, extremely dangerous. In Königsdorf, in the late afternoon, there was a wildfire in a meadow on the edge of a forest near the federal highway 11. The heavy smoke enveloped the section of road near the Bibisee recreation area between the Königsdorf district of Wiesen and the southern city limits of Geretsried in dense smoke. Passers-by had called the fire brigade, who immediately went out and extinguished the flames, which had already charred several square meters at the time. According to eyewitnesses, three boys are said to have played with fire at the site, then the small campfire is said to have gotten out of control. The police could not verify the facts until late afternoon.
The Königsdorf fire brigade responded immediately.
