If a topic is given for a German essay at school and the student writes something incredibly clever, which unfortunately has nothing to do with the task at hand, the teachers usually only need one word to justify the bad grade: missing the topic. This sort of thing sometimes happens on TV talk shows too. It happened to Caren Miosga on Sunday evening. The concept of the show is to talk to a guest for the first part, followed by two fellow discussants later.
