The new episodes are scheduled to come in 2024: The second season of the celebrated series “Kleo” is about to finish filming.
“Kleo” could return soon. Lead actress announces in a funny video Jella Haase (30) and co-star Dimitrij Schaad (38) say that filming for the second season of the Netflix series has almost been completed. In the clip, Haase’s Kleo chases her friend/enemy Sven through the landscape in her underwear.
Kleo’s revenge campaign leads to Belgrade and Moscow
By the end of the first season, Kleo had solved the mystery surrounding her arrest. But the evidence ended up in the hands of the CIA through Sven. The revenge campaign of the dropped GDR contract killer continues. He takes the heroine to the Yugoslavian capital Belgrade and to Moscow.
In season two, the KGB and the CIA are also looking for the red suitcase, which Kleo is supposed to destroy completely this time. The content seems to play an important role in the reorganization of Europe after the end of the Cold War.
Celebrated from Grimme to Stephen King
The first season of “Kleo” started in August 2022. Netflix ordered a second round in September of the same year. No wonder, the German production was showered with praise by critics. The series has just been awarded the Grimme Prize and the German Television Prize, among others. In addition to the Grimme and Television Prizes, Jella Haase also received the Austrian Romy.
At the American Critics’ Choice Television Awards, “Kleo” was nominated for Best Non-English Language Series. Star author Stephen King (76) recommended the series to his followers.
Filming for the six new episodes took place in Berlin and the surrounding area in the summer. Filming in Belgrade will take place this fall. According to Netflix, the second season of “Kleo” will start in 2024. But there is no exact date yet.
