Klaus Wolf new President of the Bavarian Unification – Bavaria

The Constitution Day celebrations, which have taken place on December 1st since 1967, will continue even after the death of Florian Besold. This was announced by the new President of the Bavarian Unity, Klaus Wolf, after the new board was elected. Besold, who died a few weeks ago, was, as chairman of the Bavarian Unification/Bavarian People’s Foundation, the driving force behind the constitutional celebrations for 35 years, which are intended to commemorate the fact that the Bavarian people gave themselves a constitution on December 1, 1946.

At a memorial event for Besold in the state parliament, to which State Parliament President Ilse Aigner had invited, the great achievements and initiatives of the constitutional patriot Besold were once again honored. The Bavarian Unification led by Besold founded the celebration of Bavarian Constitution Day 57 years ago.

In the new elections, Klaus Wolf, full professor of German language and literature at the University of Augsburg, was elected president with a large majority. Sissy Thammer, director of the Bayreuth Young Artists Festival, supports him as vice president. Ludwig Hoegner, professor of applied geodesy at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, was appointed chairman of the Bavarian People’s Foundation. The People’s Foundation, founded in 1973, primarily supports social and cultural projects.
