KISS
Cult band sells music and other rights
Mega deal! The rights to KISS’s music and iconic face paint will now be owned by a Swedish company.
How much Pophouse Entertainment is paying for this is not officially known. But it is likely to be a real mega deal worth several hundred million, like with many other fellow musicians. In recent years, buying and selling music rights has become big business. Rod Stewart (79) is said to be according to a Wall Street Journal report, only in February received almost $100 million for his song rights. An anonymous insider speaks in the case of KISS now opposite “Bloomberg” from a deal worth more than $300 million.
KISS on stage like ABBA?
After KISS played their last gig last December, Pophouse Entertainment had already caused a stir in the music world. The company and the band announced that Gene Simmons (74), Paul Stanley (72) and their bandmates will no longer be on stage in the future, but will continue to give concerts as digital avatars – just like ABBA did with their show “ABBA Voyage”, in which Pophouse is also involved, have already demonstrated in London.
