Kirchheim: Solar park at the lake – district of Munich

In future, solar energy is to be generated at the Heimstettener See recreation area. The Kirchheim municipal council has unanimously voted in favor of drawing up the development plan for a solar park on the almost 25-hectare site between the lake and the A 99 motorway. This sets the course for further planning for the project, which was presented to the committee last December.

The local start-up company Neoampere wants to build a solar park on the area, which according to its representative Franz Glasl should achieve an output of around 23.5 megawatts. This should cover around 44 percent of the municipality’s total electricity consumption. According to the town hall administration, the property owner is also planning to build agricultural halls on part of the area.
