Kirchheim: municipality has to incur new debts – district of Munich

The local development program “Kirchheim 2030” is currently in the focus of the community – this is not only evident in the numerous construction sites in the village, with which the large infrastructure project is increasingly taking shape, but also in the finances. The provisional budget for the coming year, which Chamberlain Christine Brunner-Ernst presented to the Kirchheim Main Committee on Tuesday evening, contains a deficit of around 22.2 million euros due to the enormous investments, which is due to a borrowing of around 17.2 million needs to be balanced. Another five million are to be transferred from the reserves to the asset budget. By the end of the year, however, the general reserve will probably still be 14 million as planned.

Despite the high costs for Kirchheim in 2030, the finance department managed to keep the finances solid overall over the coming years, said Mayor Maximilian Böltl (CSU). The expenditures are also investments that benefit many generations: After all, not only the citizens of today will benefit from projects such as the local park, the new high school or the residential development, but also in the future.

7.6 million euros are earmarked for the local park alone

In total, the municipality wants to spend almost 35.9 million in 2022, an increase of almost eight percent compared to the previous year. Various building construction measures are expected to cost a total of 19.3 million, including the start of construction work for the new town hall and a new children’s home. Both projects require further expenditure in the following years. In addition, 7.6 million have been earmarked for the local park in the coming year. Various road and civil engineering works will cost around five million euros.

In the run-up to this, the municipal administration had already worked out various savings options in view of the numerous investments: For some projects, such as the community center and the renovation of the train station, only the costs of planning were taken over into the budget. These projects are only to be implemented at a later date.

The high expenditure is offset by income of almost 13.7 million. Among other things, the community receives a total of 5.6 million from grants and grants, Kirchheim receives another 4.5 million from urban development contracts.
