Kirchheim: large-scale operation after barn fire – district of Munich

The fire in a vehicle in a barn in Kirchheim necessitated a large-scale operation by the fire brigade on Friday morning. Although the owner managed to get the car outside himself and thus prevent the fire from spreading, 70 emergency services were still busy bringing the fire under control and removing several pallets of wood stored in the hall from the barn. A total of ten teams with heavy respiratory protection were deployed. The roof truss was badly affected by the extremely high heat development, writes the Munich fire inspection. After the embers have been removed, the roof will continue to be checked using a thermal imaging camera. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not yet been determined.
