Kirchheim – Eight million for affordable housing – district of Munich

The municipality of Kirchheim has to improve its budget: In its meeting on Tuesday evening, the municipal council approved a supplementary budget totaling a good eight million euros. This was made necessary above all by a decision made in a closed meeting around two weeks ago to purchase an apartment building with 19 apartments. The municipality wants to provide employees from daycare centers, care facilities and the town hall administration with affordable living space in order to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in Kirchheim. However, the purchase agreement itself has not yet been concluded.

Overall, the capital budget will increase by around 7.8 million to 46.8 million as a result of the new investment. According to Treasurer Christine Brunner-Ernst, the high expenses are to be financed through additional withdrawals from reserves and further borrowing. The Treasurer also expects additional expenditure of 206,000 euros in the administrative budget, but this should be offset by corresponding additional income. The volume of the overall budget thus increases to a good 90 million.
