Reaching your destination outside of large city centers using public transport can sometimes be an adventure. Especially at night, the journey home from dinner in the city or a party with friends is often difficult, buses and trains only run sporadically or not at all. Filling this gap was the aim of a pilot project by Uber in Kirchheim: since November 2019, the US chauffeur service provider has been arranging trips from the center of Munich to Kirchheim and during the day within the community and to Aschheim, Feldkirchen at flat rates between midnight and 5 a.m , Poing and Pliening. It is Uber’s first pilot outside of a major city in Germany – and this is currently once again in twilight.
