King Charles III and Queen Camilla expected on March 28 to visit, among other things, an organic vineyard

During their stay in France, from March 26 to 31, King Charles III and Queen Camilla will pass through Bordeaux on March 28. It is the only city outside the capital that will host the royal couple.

According to the British Embassy in France, “Her Majesty will travel to the outskirts of Bordeaux to observe the damage caused by last summer’s forest fires, and listen to testimonies from rescue workers and the local community”. The King and his wife will celebrate the opening of the British consulate in Bordeaux and “meet members of the local French and British communities”.

An “interest aroused by our city”

The royal couple will also visit an organic vineyard, billed as “the first to take a sustainable approach to wine production”. The name of the castle that caught the royal attention has not been specified.

The mayor of Bordeaux Pierre Hurmic (EELV) reacted in a press release to the official announcement of this visit: “This choice confirms the historical links between Bordeaux and the United Kingdom. It also marks the interest aroused by our city, which is reinventing itself and taking up major ecological challenges. I know that the people of Bordeaux will give a warm welcome to King Charles III and the Queen Consort. »
