Charles and Camilla arrived in their beloved Scotland on Wednesday evening for a relaxing and romantic break.

King Charles (75) and Queen Camilla (76) arrived at their beloved Scottish estate Birkhall on Wednesday evening. Mail Online shows pictures of the royal couple arriving at Aberdeen airport at night. The plane took off from RAF Northolt Airport in north-west London.

After arriving at the airport, the royal couple were driven to the house of the late Queen Mother, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), which is around eleven kilometers from the castle and where they also spent their honeymoon.

Relaxation and romance

So now their romantic break begins on the occasion of their 19th wedding anniversary, which the then Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles officially celebrated on April 9th.

But far from the hustle and bustle of London, it won’t just be about romance. Because the stay takes place at a time when the king is fighting an unspecified form of cancer. It is unclear whether he has completed his treatment or is just recovering between treatments.

To make matters worse, his daughter-in-law Kate, Princess of Wales, was also suffering from cancer.

King Charles on the mend

After the cancer diagnosis, the monarch seems to be doing well. On Easter Sunday he was in a good mood with his wife Camilla and other family members at the service. He even shook hands with those waiting in front of St. George’s Chapel in Windsor. If their health continues to improve, the royal couple could even set off on a longer trip abroad in October. Australia and New Zealand are on the program.
