Kim Kardashian continues to work on her acting career. Netflix has secured the rights to her comedy “The Fifth Wheel”.

Kim Kardashian’s (43) career as an actress continues to take shape. Netflix has secured the rights to her film “The Fifth Wheel”. According to Deadline, the streaming giant prevailed in a bidding war against several film distributors and video-on-demand providers.

Kim Kardashian will not only star in the comedy, but will also serve as a producer. The reality TV actress is said to have pushed the project forward with commitment in all pitches and meetings.

No details are yet known about the story of “The Fifth Wheel” – except that Kim Kardashian will play the titular fifth wheel on the car. We also know that it’s supposed to be an ensemble comedy.

Comedian and former “Saturday Night Live” star Paula Pell (60) is writing the script together with her wife Janine Brito, who is also an active comedian.

“American Horror Story” and more: Kim Kardashian’s acting career

“The Fifth Wheel” is Kim Kardashian’s first leading role in a film. This year she played a major role in the twelfth season of the horror series “American Horror Story”.

Previously, the reality queen had tried her hand at smaller roles. She was seen in various film comedies, such as the disaster film parody “Disaster Movie” (2008) and the drama “Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor” (2013). For both performances she earned a nomination for the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress. She even “won” the Negative Prize for the latter film. In an episode of “CSI:NY” she appeared alongside her It Girl colleague and former boss Paris Hilton (42).

Kim Kardashian has already played herself in guest appearances in several series, for example in “How I Met Your Mother”, “Last Man Standing” and “2 Broke Girls”.
