North Korea is behind Russia in the war against Ukraine – ruler Kim made this clear during his meeting with President Putin. Observers firmly believe that Kim will also support Russia with weapons.

According to Russian media reports, North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un assured the Russian president of his support in the war of aggression against Ukraine during his meeting with Vladimir Putin.

Russia has stood up to protect its sovereignty and security, Kim said at the Vostochny cosmodrome, according to the Interfax news agency. “We have always and will continue to support all of Putin’s decisions and decisions of the Russian government. I hope that we will always be together in the fight against imperialism and in building a sovereign state.” He is sure that the meeting is a further step that will raise the relations between the two countries to a new level.

Russian help with satellite construction

Putin and Kim met this morning for their first meeting in four years at the spaceport in Russia’s Far East. Russian media report that Putin promised his guest help in building satellites. “That’s why we came to the Vostochny Cosmodrome. The leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea shows great interest in rocket technology and is trying to expand his presence in space,” Putin said, according to state news agency Ria Novosti.

The state leaders looked at the launch pad and the assembly of an “Angara” launch vehicle. According to media reports, the North Korean leader asked many questions about the Russian missile program during the tour.

The delegation traveling with us speaks in favor of negotiations on weapons

When asked by journalists whether the meeting would also include military cooperation, the Russian president said: “We will talk about all issues, without rushing. We have enough time.” Yesterday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov simply replied to a question: “Our countries cooperate in sensitive areas that should not be made public.”

However, according to analysts, the delegation traveling from North Korea suggests that the meeting between Putin and Kim is likely to be about arms deliveries to Russia. It includes high-ranking representatives of the military and the defense industry. Among others, the director of the ammunition industry, Jo Chun Ryong, is there. North Korea could supply Russia with artillery ammunition and anti-tank missiles for its war in Ukraine.

In return, North Korea, which is largely isolated, could receive modern technology for satellites and nuclear submarines from Russia. There is also speculation about possible food deliveries from Russia.

USA warns North Korea

The USA had warned Pyongyang against supplying arms to Russia. The country reserves the right to impose further sanctions in such a case. “Any transfer of weapons from North Korea to Russia would be a violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions,” said Matthew Miller, US State Department spokesman.
