STORY: According to official information, several people were killed in the most recent attack on Kiev on Thursday night, including two children. Over a dozen others were injured. The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, announced that many of the wounded were being treated in the hospital. A medical facility was also hit. Pictures show broken windows in a clinic and in nearby residential buildings. City authorities said the hits came from launched cruise missiles or ballistic missiles. “It all happened very quickly, within 15 minutes. First the sirens went off, then the air defenses, then clouds of smoke rose, which probably came from the explosion crater there. As far as I could tell, it was before dusk.” It was the 18th attack on the capital in the most recent wave of attacks.

According to official information, several people were killed in the most recent attack on Kiev on Thursday night, including two children. Over a dozen others were injured.

At least three people, including two children, were killed in a Russian rocket attack on Kiev, according to Ukrainian authorities. “According to the doctors, there are now 14 injured in the Dniprovsky and Desnyansky districts, nine had to be hospitalized,” said Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Thursday morning on his Telegram channel.

According to the military administration in Kiev, the city was attacked with ground-based missiles around 3 a.m. local time (2 a.m. CEST). Although they were shot down by anti-aircraft guns, the debris resulted in many casualties and extensive damage.

Ukraine may have intercepted Russian missiles over Kiev

“It’s Children’s Day. And the racists are launching another attack on our capital and killing. Killing Ukrainian children,” Kyiv’s military administration chief Serhiy Popko wrote on his Telegram channel. The word “racists” is a combination of “Rasha”, as Russia is pronounced in English, and fascist. It has been used as a swear word for the Russian occupiers in Ukraine since the beginning of the war.

The Ukrainian general staff announced on Facebook in the morning that Russia carried out the attack on Kiev with ten Iskander missiles. All ten missiles were destroyed by anti-aircraft defense. The Iskander is considered a short-range missile. According to military experts, however, their range can be increased to far more than the specified 500 kilometers. The rocket can be equipped with both conventional and nuclear warheads.
