Kiefer Sutherland also owes his Hollywood career to music. As a ten-year-old, he got a role in the theater mainly because he could play the violin, the 55-year-old suspects. As an actor, he then went straight up: from the youth film “Stand By Me” to the vampire clothes “The Lost Boys” and the young doctor’s thriller “Flatliners” (he worked with Julia Roberts during the shoot) to eight seasons of the agent series “24”, which made him the best-paid series actor in the noughties. But his true passion remained music, country and Americana, sometimes like Bruce Springsteen, sometimes like Kris Kristofferson and on the third album “Bloor Street” now close to his songwriter idol Tom Petty. Sutherland even runs his own label. And like few other singer-actor colleagues, he is also taken seriously as a songwriter.
