Aitana Lopez is a 25-year-old influencer. On Instagram she shows herself to her followers with pink hair and skimpy outfits. This means she earns above average. Only: Aitana Lopez is not real.

Her salary is real, she herself is not: Aitana Lopez has countless fans in the online world, although the model is a bot invented by the Spanish designer Rubén Cruz. He used artificial intelligence to design the pretty young woman.

The designer works for the Barcelona-based advertising agency “The Clueless”. Cruz no longer wanted to be dependent on other people who, as he told Euronews, have “egos” or some “manias” or who “just want to make a lot of money by posing.” The idea came to him after he had problems working with real people Influencers:inside had given. When projects were canceled, the influencers or models were often to blame, argues the Spanish designer.

His AI team created Aitana and her life using Photoshop. The team decides on a weekly basis what to do and what content to post.

Stories and posts like any other influencer: This is how the AI model earns

At first glance, she doesn’t really differ from other models or influencers. @fit_aitanas posts stories from her everyday life, photos on the beach, even videos from concerts. Some of her posts are sponsored; she is the advertising face of a company that produces nutritional supplements. And she also sells pictures on the not really adult platform Fanvue, which is similar to Onlyfans. According to the agency, she can earn up to 1,000 euros for an advertising post – the artificial model currently earns up to 10,000 euros per month.

Under her pictures, real fans adore the fake one Woman at. She should even receive invitations to go on dates, including from famous people. According to Cruz, it was a well-known Latin American actor.

Aitana likes fitness, she is a gamer and her zodiac sign is Scorpio. “People follow life, not pictures,” explains Cruz. His creators should therefore give the model a story and create real content.

AI-generated model: The project is met with criticism

The AI team was guided by what society likes most, looks and interests that have been trending in recent years. And that’s exactly why the project is met with criticism. The AI figure conveys completely unrealistic ideals of beauty. This is already a known problem on social media platforms, but the AI-generated images reinforce this perception pattern.

The agency emphasizes that it is pursuing the look that advertisers demand. “If we don’t follow this aesthetic, companies won’t be interested,” Cruz told Euronews. “To change this system, you have to change the companies’ ideas. The whole world is sexualized.” And so the second AI model in “The Clueless” has already been created: Her name is Maia.
