There is a dispute between the producer and leading actor Kevin Costner and the Paramount Network over the rough cowboy series “Yellowstone”. The scandal followed at an important PR event.

For months there have been rumors of a falling out between lead actor and producer Kevin Costner and Paramount over the future of the Cowboy series. Allegedly Paramount Network wants to end the series because of the disagreements with Costner. Now it came to a head.

“Yellowstone” star Costner, co-creator Taylor Sheridan and many actors stayed away from a celebration at the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles. They should moderate the “Yellowstone” part of the event. At least that’s what was announced. In fact, other actors had to step in. Officially, “scheduling conflicts” were given as the reason for the absence. Visitors reacted angrily to the change. They had booked tickets for the show’s superstars and now had to make do with second-tier actors.

Kevin Costner series supplemented by prequels

The popular series is in its fifth season, and there are also the two spin-offs “1883” and “1923” on the history of the rancher dynasty. As recently as February, Deadline reported that Paramount Network was ending the original series Yellowstone in order to focus on another spin-off starring Matthew McConaughey. The cause of the dispute should be discrepancies about the planning of the shooting. Costner is said to have delayed filming because he no longer wanted to be available on a regular basis. In fact, filming for Season 5 has stalled for the last year.

Both parties disagreed with the statement. An anonymous source assured the Los Angeles Times that Yellowstone will continue. “We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of ‘Yellowstone’ and we hope he stays that way for a long time to come,” said a Paramount Network spokesman. Costner’s attorney Marty Singer also denied the allegations.
