Kerstin Weng heads the German edition of Vogue media

Burda-Verlag has to find a new editor-in-chief for the fashion magazine Instyle: Kerstin Weng goes to Condé Nast, in the newly created role as “Head of Editorial Content” for Vogue, where she is the five-man Editorial team will guide. The publisher, which merged its American and global companies in 2018 due to its unsuccessful digital business and falling advertising revenues, is now completing the restructuring of the editorial offices of its most prestigious title. From now on, all self-published editions will be controlled centrally from New York and London, and the position of editor-in-chief has been abolished.

In her new role, Weng, like her colleagues in Spain, France and Italy, will report to the European Editorial Director Edward Enninful in London, as well as to Anna Wintour, Chief Content Officer the whole group. The 39-year-old, with a degree in fashion journalism from the Academy for Mode & Design in Munich, headed the editorial department of Cosmopolitan and the shopping platform before joining Instyle stylight.de. According to Condé Nast, Weng will “work closely with Wintour and Enninful to bring local stories, talent and strategic ideas to all global editorial projects.” She succeeds Stephanie Neureuter, the beauty specialist known throughout the industry, who took over the management of Vogue on an interim basis after the departure of editor-in-chief Christiane Arp. She is leaving the publishing house at her own request after 19 years to join her family’s company, Premium Kliniken & Praxen, as managing director.
