Kelly Clarkson: Alimony to her ex is far below his expectations

Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from her husband Brandon Blackstock in June 2020. He wanted almost half a million dollars as monthly maintenance in the future – now the divorce has been completed and Blackstock’s expectations have been far exceeded.
Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock are now officially divorced. Clarkson was legally declared single last September, but the details of the divorce had not yet been finally clarified. It is now clear that she pays him maintenance, but far less than Blackstock had asked for. Clarkson also retains custody of their two children.
20 years ago in 2002, Kelly Clarkson won the first season of the talent show “American Idol”. Since then, her career has gone from strength to strength, and the singer now has an estimated monthly income of almost two million dollars, according to Stylecaster magazine. Above all, her TV engagements as a coach on “The Voice” in the USA and her talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show” bring her a significant part of her monthly income.
Brandon Blackstock had been demanding nearly half a million dollars a month in child support from his ex-wife for the past year and a half during the divorce process. Now he will only receive alimony of $115,000 in the future. However, the maintenance regulation is limited in time and ends in January 2024.
She keeps the ranch in Montana where Blackstock currently resides. He is allowed to live here until June 1, but he has to pay Clarkson $12,500 a month in rent. In addition, the singer gets sole custody of the two children. Visiting time with the father is one weekend a month. Blackstock will receive an additional $45,600 a month for child support for that weekend. He will also receive a one-time payment of $1.3 million. Judge Scott Gordon of the LA Superior Court has now signed the divorce agreement, according to the celebrity portal “TMZ”.
However, the alimony arrangements relate to Montana residency. Should Blackstock move to another state, it is possible to review the financial arrangements.
