The free one Password manager Version 2.50 of KeePass has been released for download. Don’t confuse or be surprised, there are two editions of KeePass. Users of the classic version of the password manager KeePass can download version 1.40. KeePass versions 1 and 2 differ greatly in their functions, but there are users for whom version 1 is sufficient. KeePass 2.50 has now also received innovations that could provide more speed. On most Windows systems it is AES-KDF now about twice as fast as before, according to the developer. On most Linux systems, AES-KDF is now about four times as fast as before if the library “libgcrypt” is installed.
Argon2 is also faster on both systems. Argon2 is the winner of the password hashing competition. The main advantage of Argon2 over AES-KDF is that it offers better resistance to GPU / ASIC attacks.
