Keanu Reeves’ band Dogstar broke up more than 20 years ago. Now the group appears to be returning with new music soon.

Keanu Reeves (58) has been a Hollywood fixture since the late 1980s and early 1990s. But in the life of the actor there are not only cinema successes like the “Matrix” and “John Wick” series, the star also has musical talent. A comeback with his band Dogstar, in which he plays bass, could soon be on the agenda.

The group, which includes guitarist Bret Domrose and drummer Rob Mailhouse alongside Reeves, recently shared a behind-the-scenes picture on Instagram from a photo shoot in Los Angeles. “Exciting news coming soon. Thanks for being so patient,” reads the attached comment. These lines suggest that new songs from the band, which originally broke up in 2002, are to be released shortly. However, there are no exact details yet.

New Dogstar album mixed in December

In the past few months, the band, which currently has less than 40,000 followers, has repeatedly shared updates from the studio. However, if word gets out that Keanu Reeves is in the game, that number is likely to rise quickly.

The group wrote End of 2022 to several pictures, on which the actor can also be seen that a new Dogstar album is just being mixed. Shortly thereafter, Reeves and his bandmates then performed at a private concert for everyone, “who made our new album possible”. Dogstar also announced that the record should be released in spring 2023 and that the band would then perform. At the end of March, the musicians hinted that they work on more material and get ready for summer.
