Bundestag Vice President Katrin Göring-Eckardt should be used to a lot. But the fact that you send her a dead animal in the mail is too much for the Greens.

It is nothing new that politicians have to serve as the favorite addressee for hate messages both online and offline. But what Bundestag Vice-President Katrin Göring-Eckardt says fluttered into the mailbox on Monday is too much of a bad thing.

As the Green politician wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, her constituency office in Jena received a letter addressed to her. It should not only contain insults and threats, but also a nasty surprise: a dead mouse.

Katrin Göring-Eckardt: “It’s disgusting”

“That’s disgusting,” wrote the 57-year-old on X. But she thanked the “friendly police officers who were there.” It is not known who sent her the letter and what exactly it said. However, it is already being determined, according to Göring-Eckardt.
