Karoline Herfuth, 38, has long been one of the best-known German actresses. She is also very successful as a director. Her last film “Beautiful” had over one and a half million viewers in the cinema – German films rarely do that even without a pandemic. In her new tragic comedy “Einfach mal was Schönes” (theatrical release November 17), she elegantly plays with old romcom clichés and turns the genre upside down.
