In 1972, not only did the Olympic Games take place in Munich, but the district of Dachau also got its current form. While other municipalities gained or had to give up districts, little changed for the municipality of Karlsfeld: Only a small area with around 150 inhabitants had to be handed over to the district town of Dachau on January 1, 1979.
