According to US media reports, Kanye West will not appear at the Coachella festival. The rapper was one of the headliners.

After a two-year hiatus, the Coachella music festival returns for the weekends of April 15-17 and April 22-24. Harry Styles (27), Billie Eilish (20) and Kanye West (44) have been announced as headliners. But the latter is said to have canceled his appearance. This is reported by CNN, among others. A source close to the rapper told the broadcaster that he did not want to enter the stage due to the headlines of the past few weeks, which he has caused, among other things, through the divorce from Kim Kardashian (41) and insults to moderator Trevor Noah (38). West was previously disinvited by the organizers of the Grammys, which took place on April 3rd.

West, who officially changed his name to Ye last year, was scheduled to contest the closing of the festival on Sundays. He previously headlined in 2011, but hasn’t played his own set since. In 2015 he appeared as a guest on The Weeknd (32) and in 2019 on Kid Cudi (38).

The festival, which takes place in the southern Californian desert of Indio near Palm Springs, had to be postponed and canceled several times due to the corona pandemic. The 2020 event was planned for April of the same year but was postponed to October and eventually canceled due to the global pandemic. In 2019, the festival attracted almost a quarter of a million people.
