Kansas: The background to shots at the Super Bowl parade was apparently an argument – Panorama

According to police findings, the fatal shots during a parade honoring the winners of the Super Bowl in the USA have no terrorist background. “It appeared to be an argument between several people that ended in a shootout,” Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said Thursday. Several suspects are in custody, two of them are teenagers.

In the incident on Wednesday in the US state of Missouri, a 43-year-old woman was shot and more than 20 people were injured. The victims were between 8 and 47 years old, about half of them were younger than 16, Graves said. The police chief did not provide any further details about the motive.

Tens of thousands of people gathered in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, on Wednesday to celebrate their city’s football team – and its fourth Super Bowl title. Players and coaches traveled in the parade on a red double-decker bus. Fans in red jerseys lined the streets and flocked to a rally in front of a train station at the end. According to police, just as the rally was over, shots were fired near the train station building. Chaos then broke out on the premises.
