The Super Bowl celebrations in Kansas City were overshadowed by an act of violence. Shots were fired at the city’s train station. There were injuries.

By shots fired on the sidelines of the Super Bowl celebration Kansas City, several people were injured. The local police announced this on Wednesday evening (CET). Investigators initially did not confirm media reports of at least one fatality.

Shots were fired and several people were hit near a parking garage at the train station in the city of 500,000 in the US state of Missouri, it said. Two armed suspects were arrested. “Please leave the area as quickly and safely as possible,” the authorities asked.

The police have not yet provided any information about the background to the crime or the identity of the suspected perpetrators and the injured.

At the time of the shooting, thousands of fans in the city had been celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs’ win of the American Football League NHL for hours. The team won the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas on Sunday.
