Thieves have been gutting empty apartment buildings for months
They had criminal energy – and lots of stamina. In Kamenz, Saxony, thieves have been tampering with several empty buildings for months, making off with plenty of loot.
According to the police, the damage caused is in the six-figure range. There are strangers in the small Saxon town Kamenz (Bautzen district) almost gutted three empty apartment buildings over several months. The investigators announced this on Wednesday.

Accordingly, the thieves removed inventory such as power lines, pipes, radiators and fittings from the buildings in the east of the city – in other words: everything that can be turned into money. The police were only informed about the crime on Tuesday. There is no trace of the perpetrators. The police have started the investigation and secured evidence in the houses.
