Kaden Groves takes the last stage of the Vuelta, Sepp Kuss crowned

For this final stage of the Vuelta, we expected a massive sprint, but in the end, that was not the case. Despite a final attack in the last kilometer, the best climber of this edition, Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step), present in the breakaway of six riders which upset all the plans this afternoon, could not resist on the return of Kaden Groves (Alpecin-Deceuninck) to the streets of Madrid. The third stage victory for the Australian green jersey in this Vuelta.

A historic year for Jumbo-Visma

But the most important thing to remember is indeed the feat achieved by the Jumbo-Visma. With the coronation of Sepp Kuss, who became the second American rider after Christopher Horner, in 2013, to win a Tour of Spain, the Dutch team became the first team to win on the 3 grand tours during the same season (Roglic on the Giro and Vingegaard on the Tour de France).
