Juventus Turin is still sticking to the plans for a Super League. That could have far-reaching consequences for the top Italian club.

Juventus face draconian penalties if they try to revive the Super League that failed last year. This was announced by Gabriele Gravina, President of the Italian Football Association.

“If the planned new contract becomes a reality, Juventus would be out of Serie A. The Super League is the wrong answer to a real need,” Gravina told the Italian daily La Republica.

Juventus apparently wants to present revised plans for the project, which failed last year, together with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Super League: Juventus, Real and Barca keep fighting

In the spring of 2021, twelve top European clubs initially presented plans for a Super League outside of UEFA competitions and received massive criticism for this. While the English teams distanced themselves from the controversial ideas a little later, the initiators Juventus, Real and Barca did not completely shelve the project.
