Juve could be deprived of European competition by UEFA

New twist in the Juventus file. While the Turin club has just recovered the 15 points lost in the fraudulent transfer case – it is in fact a suspension of sentence – the Gazzetta dello Sport reveals that UEFA could intervene to deprive the Old Lady of European competitions. Juve are temporarily 3rd and eligible for the Champions League.

The body chaired by Aleksander Ceferin fears that the decision of the Italian authorities on the fate of Juventus will encroach on its calendar, and in particular on the draws for European competitions, in August. Before that UEFA must draw up the lists of teams officially qualified for its three European Cups, which suggests that it will hardly wait beyond the beginning of August.

UEFA would rely on an independent investigation

Thus, if the Federal Court of the Italian Football Federation has not definitively reassessed its sanction by then, UEFA could take the decision to include or exclude the club based on its independent investigation. When we know the fresh relations between the Old Lady and the body based in Nyon since the sling of the Super League, not sure that this is very good news for the Italian club.
